About Us
Here at Thriving Through Recreation we are passionate about transforming lives through the extraordinary power of recreational learning. We offer grants to children and young people who are navigating social, emotional or educational difficulties so that they can regularly attend any recreational pursuit of their choosing.
Together we can ensure that everyone can thrive through recreation.
What is Recreational Learning?
Whether training with a local sports team, learning to play chart-toppers on a favourite instrument, or creating tasty baked treats, it's all important recreational learning.

In fact, the list is endless.

If an activity happens regularly outside of school hours and involves some form of oversight or instruction by a provider, it counts.

The children and young people who receive our funding are all navigating tough times so whether they are pulling out their paint brushes or strategising the next moves of their chess piece, our grants help make life that bit easier and support their journey to thriving.
Our Vision and Values
Recreation Matters
We believe that recreational learning should be part of every child's education.
Education provides every child with the tools they need to thrive now, and in the future, and they won't just learn them in a school classroom.
Equity is Essential
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive.
Every child is unique so supporting them to thrive must take a flexible and fair approach, and, of course, everyone is more likely to thrive if those around them are too.
Values Guide Us
We believe empathy and humility are vital to achieving our mission.
Facilitating life-changing recreational learning for those who need it most requires a constant willingness to listen and understand one another.
Fundraise With Us
