What is a referring professional?

At Thriving Through Recreation we normally require grant applications to be supported by a frontline professional.

This can be anyone who, as part of their job, regularly works directly with a child or young person. Ultimately, they have to sufficiently know the child or young person in order to establish that a grant from Thriving Through Recreation is both necessary and beneficial. They will also be able to support that child or young person to find a suitable and safe activity provider, facilitate access, and encourage attendance.

Examples of frontline professionals who can support grant applications are listed below:

  • Teacher

  • SENCO

  • School Counsellor or Wellbeing Mentor

  • Social Worker

  • Youth Worker

  • Charity Worker

  • Youth Offending Team

  • G.P.

  • Education Welfare Officer

  • Family Worker

This list is not exhaustive so please get in touch if you need any more information or advice on the referral process.
