Eligibility

All applications must satisfy all the conditions below.

The grant application must be for a child or young person aged 0-18 years. Applications can also be made for young adults up to aged 25 if they have a current EHCP. They must be resident in England or Wales.

The application can only be made if a family are unable to pay for the activity themselves, and all statutory support & funding must have been exhausted.

It must be possible and practical for Thriving through Recreation to establish the credibility and expertise of the chosen provider. No application will be accepted if we can not verify a provider and their safeguarding credentials.

The application form must be supported by a frontline professional who works regularly with the child, young person, or their family.

In a small number of cases self-referrals from a young person or family are accepted but, in this instance, please contact us to discuss further.

A needs assessment of the child or young person must establish that they are navigating difficulties associated with their social,  emotional or educational wellbeing. There must be clear outcomes and rationale for their chosen activity and provider.

If a child aged under 5 is not experiencing any specific identifiable social, emotional or educational difficulties then Thriving Through Recreation will consider evidence associated with that of their main care giver.

Consent to store and analyse personal data must be given by the child or young person, their care givers, and the referring professional. Consent must also be given for Thriving through Recreation to use communication data to correspond or discuss an application and/or a grant allocation.
