How We Fund

We want to ensure that recreational learning is accessible to everyone who needs it most, so we have made our funding process simple, inclusive and safe.

Applications are accepted from any professional working regularly with a child, young person or their family. The application form must be completed with everyone's consent and input.

Applications must include the details of the chosen activity and provider. Before awarding a grant Thriving Through Recreation will review the provider to ensure that they are who they say they are, can do what they say they can do, and will keep children and young people safe.

Funding can be provided for up to one academic year. There are informal termly reviews involving the child/young person and care giver, referring professional, and Thriving through Rcereation.

Applications must demonstrate a short but careful needs assessment and thorough consideration for the desired outcomes. Applications must also notify us of any other barriers to accessing the activity, such as transport, equipment, language or ability.

Thriving Through Recreation will always be in contact to discuss these in more detail once an application is accepted.

When an application is successful, funds for the chosen activity are transferred directly to the provider using bank transfer. The provider must be able to accept payment in this way. If Thriving Through Recreation has been notified of other specific barriers to accessing the activity, further funds may be offered if this money would enable the child/young person to attend.

We collect and analyse some data to constantly review where our support is going, who is accessing it, and for what outcomes. This ensures the full efficacy of our funding process. Applicants and referring professionals must give consent for this data to be collected.
