Who We Fund

Thriving through Recreation can offer grants to many vulnerable children and young people. Our eligibility criteria are deliberately wide in order to ensure funding is accessible to everyone who might need it most.

The child or young person must live in England or Wales and be aged 0-18.

If they have an EHCP then we can provide grants up to the age of 25, or for as long as the EHCP is in effect.

The family or child/young person is working regularly with a frontline professional who can support the grant application.

For example, this can be a teacher, a support worker, or a charity worker. Please click on the linked word above to find out more.

Thriving Through Recreation can sometimes provide grants to children under 5 who are not experiencing specific individual difficulties but whose main caregiver is navigating their own.

The family or child/young person is unable to pay for activities themselves.

The child or young person is experiencing social, emotional or educational difficulties such that they are at risk of more profound concerns in the future.

The family, child or young person, and referring professional must be willing to provide us with certain data, and commit to an open, honest and communicative relationship with Thriving Through Recreation, including reviewing both outcomes and the funding approach on a termly basis.
